15 Steps To legitimately Gain More Twitter Followers https://linkstoweb.in/2013/06/get-more-twitter-followers.html https://linkstoweb.in/2013/06/get-more-twitter-followers.html#comments Sat, 08 Jun 2013 07:24:00 +0000 How to get more twitter followers? This is one of the questions that lot of my friends ask me -especially friends who has just started to explore the new world of twitter.

Is there is any Twitter user who don’t want more followers?

In this blog post, I will discussing 15 Steps that you need to follow, to get more followers.  As a matter of fact i am planning to start all new series on this topic.

So you can expect more useful content coming here regarding “Managing Your Twitter Profile”. Like our first blogging series Make web reading better.

follow-me

The power of Twitter is greatly impacted by the extent of your reach, and that means the number of followers you have.

Few people argue that numbers are don’t important they are only concerned with Quality followers, Yes it is true that Quality twitter followers can only brings more engagement. Then why do you want more Twitter followers ?

3 reasons you might want more Twitter followers

  • Reason #1: More followers extend your influence. – Twitter makes it very easy to spread your ideas, The larger your followers the faster it spreads.
  • Reason #2: More followers provide social authority. –Like any ranking system the higher the follower account the more people assume that you are an expert. And that may not valid but that’s the way works in a world where there is a rank system for every thing.
  • Reason #3: More followers lead to more sales  -It’s as simple as that

So, here are twelve steps you can take now to legitimately gain more Twitter followers:

Optimize your Profile

  1. Show your Face. Make Shure that you upload a photo in your twitter profile. It is the most important thing you need to do. Why ?  Do you follow any one without a photo? Because of the absence of photo tells that person is a spammer or total newbie.
  2. Create an interesting bio. Don’t ever leave Twitter Bio blank. It is one of the First thing that potential followers review , You only have 160 characters to sum up who you are, what you do, why someone should follow you, or what they can expect your tweets to consist of. Make sure that users who view your bio understand what niche you’re targeting. Use keywords in your bio whenever possible. You can optimize your Twitter profile for search in the same way you optimize a web page. Think of your name as the title and your bio as a Meta description. Just like in SEO, exact match domains will do better than unrelated hyperlinks.
  3. Use a custom About page. Your twitter bio can only include about 160 characters and it is not much room to tell your story or Introduce to people all you  offer ,So instead create a custom about page on your blog and link it your Twitter bio. I have done it on my Twitter Bio.
  4. Take a look at your Twitter Profile page  Most of the interaction on Twitter takes place in a user’s feed, but prior to following the majority of users will check out your profile page.
  5. Create a custom background for your page – this is the perfect place to include your business logo. When it comes to profile design pay attention to your color scheme and placement of background elements. As for the header and background image they can represent your company.Image 1
    Make your Twitter presence visible
  6. Make it easy for people to follow you: Display links to your Twitter Account In your Email signature, On Your website, On Facebook, Business cards, If you are a public speaker Use it in on your slid – In Short “use it every ware”. It helps users trust in your identity, which is more important than you think on the Internet.
  7. Share valuable content: This is probably my most important price of advice. people need and want resources.. What why they following you. Point people to it, be generous, Inspire, Use lot’s of links And create content that other people look for And Wand to pas to there followers, And this is the key to getting ReTweets.
  8. Help people: Twitter is not just about sharing what you do during the day or what you are eating. It’s a community… a social network… so treat it like one. Participate in the community by helping other people out.

Search for tweets related to your industry and answer any questions people have. A good example of this is if I search for “Social Media” on Twitter, and answer questions for anyone who has them.

  9. Post frequently: but don’t flood your followers. I love to Share the gem’s that I find, But Share that all in the one time will lead to overwhelm my followers And people will start to unfollow me. It is best to post in a predefined schedule and get the optimum results. You can then take that data and use tools like Hootsuite to schedule out your tweets so that you maximize your reach.
  10. Keep your posts short enough to Retweet: It is the only way really to notice by people who don’t follow you. You have to makes it easy for your followers to retweet your tweet. keep your tweet short enough for people to add the RT @ and Your User name. So for my case it would bee RT @linkstoweb     – For me it takes 14 characters. Do the math on our own username , RT @your username  How many character it is including Space. And minus that with 140 character which is the maximum twitter allows my own tweets can no longer than 126 characters long.  And it makes so much easer to people to retweet you.
  11. Reply to others publicly: Don’t always DM your Tweeter followers, it is less Sociable. It is better to replay Publicly (Using @) And only the people who follow me and other person that I replaying to will actually see that respond. So it is sociable and But it is not annoying. Every tweet you publish, every @mention you make, every hash tag you use and every time you re-tweet someone you’re extending your social graph. You’ll never know when that extra extension will lead to a new follower. Since you’re involving yourself in conversations that are pertinent to your niche, you’re going to attract the right followers.
  12. Practice strategic, not aggressive, following: Follow people in your Industry, People how use specific key-words in there bio, Some of this will follow you back. And if they Retweet you that where it get’s interesting, Because it will introduce to there followers. One of the best mechanisms for finding relevant users to follow is through Twitter’s own native search. Not only will you find relevant users, you’ll find active users who have tweeted in the last few days. One of my favorite strategies is to skip searching category keywords like “Social Media” and instead search for related keywords that are currently trending.
Also Follow Your Trusted Followers – There is nothing more annoying than following someone who doesn’t follow you back. This can translate into indifference, and it will negatively impact your overall appearance.
Assuming that someone has found you interesting enough to follow, you could return the favor. Who knows, they might just post something that you are interested in! Well for this I use a tool called SocialBro (aff link) which has complete suite of tools including finding influencer new followers.

    SocialBro
  13. Be generous in linking and retweeting others. Important think here I found that when people directly ask to retweet especially if you don’t know that person that well, Just simply post contents worth Retweeting.
  14. Avoid too much promotion. Yes you can promote your blog post, product, Service on twitter, And I encourage people to do that “But Be Careful” There is an invisible line you can not cross. Actually you can cross it But you shouldn’t.  And if you do you looks like a Spammer Or just clue less. Not only this gets you no additional followers you ware out your existing followers, And many of them will unfollow you.
  15. Promoted tweets: You should also try using promoted tweets to gain relevant followers.

Or if you don’t have an advertising budget you can do it the free way. Every time you speak at conferences or do a webinar, make sure you let people know your Twitter handle. Or when you do an interview, mention your Twitter handle.

Ultimately, you shouldn’t worry too much about the numbers. If you follow the advice I have given above, the numbers will take care of themselves. Like most things in life, slow and steady wins the race. Don’t underestimate the power of incremental growth over time. I didn’t build my following overnight and neither will you.

If you know of any other things that should be on this check list, but aren’t, feel free to leave a comment. You can also follow me on Twitter @linkstoweb.

Everything You Need to Know About Schedule Facebook Posts https://linkstoweb.in/2013/05/schedule-posts-on-facebook.html https://linkstoweb.in/2013/05/schedule-posts-on-facebook.html#comments Thu, 23 May 2013 13:00:00 +0000 In today’s post I will be discussing about Most useful but less used Facebook future. Schedule Facebook Posts And if you are asking How do I schedule a post to appear later? Then here the  answer.

Facebook recently added the ability to schedule future (and past) posts for your Facebook Page so you can line up a bunch of great content all at once. Here is every thing you need to Know about Schedule Facebook Posts.

So Why Should I recommend to use Facebook Schedule Post future – Here are the reasons.

Why Should I Use Facebook Schedule Post

Time-ScheduleImage Thanks Βethan [flickr]

  • Allow you to post more regularly and increase your posting without spending all day on your Facebook page.
  • You can also schedule a YouTube video link, which will attach as it normally does in your posts.
  • If you have a smartphone, you can do it from Pages Manager App.
  • Facebook has been known to show posts using third-party tools a little less in the news feed ( EdgeRank Effect ) or collapse them Compared to Using Facebook it self to post.
  • You can attach photos, add links, add YouTube videos, add tags to other pages and events or just include regular text.  (Most third-party tools do not support all of this when scheduling to Facebook)
  • You can also add language and location targeting in your scheduled posts, just like you can in your regular posts. Just click on the Public icon and make the necessary adjustments.

Let me clarify 4th point a little bit (little technical part here )  – You may already know it is possible to schedule posts using third-party tools like Buffer, HootSuite, but Facebook has been known to show posts using third-party tools a little less in the news feed or collapse them Compared to Using Facebook it self to post. As all third-patty tools use Facebook API to access Facebook Account and this restricts third-patty tools some functionality like adding tags And Using mention people or page using @ symbol in post. So it only possible with in Facebook itself.  (Find more details about this in the comment section bellow).

We use Facebook Schedule Post future in www.facebook.com/linkstoweb for our “ Inspirational Quote Of Day ” Section Where we Post Inspirational Quote Of famous personalities in every morning (IST). Actually all of the posts in this section are scheduled for every day morning So that I could engage more with our fans on FacebookSmile. We can mention and add tags in this scheduled Facebook post which only possible by Using This.

How To Schedule Facebook Posts

It’s easy, just follow a few simple steps.

  1. Go to your Facebook Page
  2. Type in your post as you normally would ,You can attach photos, add links, add YouTube videos, add tags to other pages and events or just include regular text.
  3. Before you hit “Post,” click on the small clock at the bottom of the posting box
You can now add the year, month, day and time you want the post to go out.
    scheduled posts on facebook
  4. Once you have everything set, just click the blue Schedule button. Voilà! Now just remember to circle back to your posts later after the scheduled time to watch for follow-up comments!

After scheduling the post, Facebook immediately Pop-out a box Informing you to check out Activity Log to see the status of all your Scheduled post where you can see see all of your scheduled posts .

You can also do it manually  by clicking on the admin panel at the top right, then “Manage” and then “Use Activity Log”and you will see all of your scheduled posts.

What missing in Facebook Schedule Post
  • You can schedule the minutes at 00-, 10-, 20-, 30-, 40- or 50-minute marks of the hour. So if you need a post to go out specifically at 2:15 pm, you cannot set it.
  • If you need to edit your scheduled post, the only thing you can change from here is the time, unfortunately. To edit the text, you must cancel the post and redo your scheduling. To cancel or change the time, mouse over the upper-right corner of the post in the activity log.
  • You can’t schedule some of the other types of posts as you can normally do from the publisher, such as photo albums, posting of events, questions, offers and milestones.
  • If you have linked your Twitter account to your Facebook page by setting up www.Facebook.com/Twitter so that everything you post on Facebook gets tweeted (yes, we know that it’s not always a great idea but sometimes it isn’t terrible), be aware that your scheduled posts won’t go out to Twitter

The option does appear to schedule a Facebook post on personal profiles, which may be a good thing for people who are using their personal profiles to talk about business. But as of this writing, I could not schedule anything into the future, only for today or in the past.

I encourage you to try some experiments with scheduled posts on your page and see how things work for you.

What are your thoughts? Have you been using scheduled posts? What results have you seen? Tell us in the comments section below!

New linkstowebIn this post I will be sharing few tips which I have learned over the cause of LinksToWeb redesign , And I hope this will help every bloggers and webmasters.

Now, let me help you with some of the things that will make readers come back to your blog again

1. Work on branding and Trust factor of your blog

This is the foremost reason people remember a blog. People like brands, as they like to associated with something which has created a name. Once you succeed in creating a well-known brand of your own blog, you have done the 50% of task for creating a big name for your-self and for your blog. There are just few elements which will help you to brand your blog, and increase the trust factor.

What I Have done for branding and Trust factor for LinksToWeb
  • Blog design : I have Keep it unique and keep it according to personality of Blog.new linkstoweb
  • Blog logo and avatar: People remember visual aspect more than the textual stuff. Logo should create a great impression on user mind, so that they remember it. A good idea is to work on a logo/avatar in a way, that you can use on your blog and on your social-media profiles so that user can connect to it. I have created a new logo which is very simple. Did you like it?  One rule of thumb: Use the same avatar everywhere.
  • Important pages: Pages like about page, contact page are very useful for first time readers to know about your blog. This will make them connect to your blog. I have added this pages on the top where readers can easily find them.
  • Copyright years: If you are running an old blog, it’s a good idea to show that in the footer section of your blog. For example: I started Linkstoweb in 2011, and if you look at the footer, you can clearly see 2011-2013.
  • Show off your numbers: If you have done tremendously good in certain part of your blog marketing. For example: thousands of RSS subscriber, or lacks of Facebook fans, or an appealing Alexa rank, place them in a way, so that it’s visible to first time user. When we see thousands of people liking a page, or subscribe to a blog, we are more likely to subscribe to it, assuming this blog/page have something great to offer. (Of-course you have to offer something great). gspremiumabstract85
  • Add a favicon: It’s a small thing, but it helps a lot in branding of your blog.

2. Website navigation

This is another important aspect of offering an excellent user-experience, and improve the analytics of your over all blog. Usually a reader will come to your blog via search engines, or via following a referral link to some internal pages, your goal should be: Offer them an easy way to navigate through your blog.

What i have done to improve navigation in LinksToWeb

  • Offer related post after the blog post. You can use Outbrain Related Post, Zementa related post or nrelate related post to show related posts with thumbnail. Well I have used Simple title links in the end of each post.
  • Added a floating  Which makes easy access to our social media sites and important pages.
  • Popular post widget : You can place it on the sidebar of your blog. A good idea is to use a query to show popular post according to current category and tags of the page. This will help you to show popular posts based on the section of your blog.
  • Offer subscription options: Ensure you have placed subscription options at prominent place. This will help first time user to subscribe to your blog updates and join us on the social sites like Facebook Fan page and Twitter.

3. Speed and loading time of blog

This is one important aspect of a well-maintained blog. If your blog stuck while loading, or gives internal server error due to slow hosting hardware issues, you are more likely to lose a reader. Even study shows, if a page loads in more than 3 seconds, it’s considered as a bad user experience.

Work on improving the load time of LinksToWeb

Previously, lookups averaged around 20 seconds. I have cut the average response time in half to about 10 seconds, and will be working to make it even faster. All thanks to gtmetrix Which is a very useful tool to analyze and speed up loading speed of website. And I am further optimize LinksToWeb response times. I hope this increased speed provides a big value-add for my readers as well as Search engines.

This whole thing is a work in progress. I want to make the best site I can for you guys, so I have to let you actually use it so you can tell us what you want! (It wouldn’t be very good if I just did it all ourselves and handed it over Winking smile).

This post is to seek out you, our loyal readers, to come and test out the new design, And if you find any issue that need’s to be fixed do make use of our Contact Us page.

Quick Way To Download Videos With In YouTube https://linkstoweb.in/2013/05/quick-way-to-download-video.html https://linkstoweb.in/2013/05/quick-way-to-download-video.html#comments Tue, 07 May 2013 15:25:00 +0000

How you watch YouTube video offline? What if you want to save a few of your favorite videos to a USB stick or burn some memorable clips to disc as a gift?

In this blog post i will be sharing a quick way to download YouTube video with out using any software or extension and that to without leaving the YouTube page.

YouTube Logo cupcake Image Thanks M i x y [Flickr]

While YouTube is undertaking a pilot project to allow content owners the ability to make their content legally downloadable for free or for a small fee, the bulk of videos on the website are not as fortunate.

And if you want to download YouTube videos without having to pay a fee, While you may thing to install Special Software, or run browser plug-in or extension which does this for you  – But the sad thing now most of this will not work ! Yes it is true if you haven’t noticed it yet, Most of the YouTube video downloading applications have stopped working.
It is mostly because of the new YouTube’s Terms of Service!

A portion of the YouTube’s Terms of Service says :

You may access User Submissions for your information and personal use solely as intended through the provided functionality of the YouTube Website. You shall not copy or download any User Submission unless you see a “download” or similar link displayed by YouTube on the YouTube Website for that User Submission ."

So what to do now ?
There is a small trick for this.

Note This points before You start

  • This method involves using of YouTube Site only
  • Make sure you are running flash version of YouTube player, If you are running HTML5 Trail of YouTube to make smooth buffering of YouTube video then Leave the HTML5 Trial
  • This option only work with YouTube Video which is played under ‘HTTP video Player’. To Know this just right click on the video plain and from box chose video info (See the screenshot) Youtube-HTTP Video Player

If you get all the this so lets start

It is really simple as 1 ,2, 3

1. Just right click on the video and open popup . A new window will asses with YouTube TV layout.(See screenshot bellow)

Youtube Pop-out

2. Again right click on it and you will see ‘Save video as..’ option.Save Youtube Video

3. Click on it and rename file with video extension (try .flv or .mp4)
and that’s it .

If you have problems with using this method, please feel free to ask us in the comments below. Also share your feedback on the selection of topics at our blog =D

Save Your Time By Listening To Favorite Websites On The Go https://linkstoweb.in/2013/03/listen-to-website.html https://linkstoweb.in/2013/03/listen-to-website.html#comments Wed, 27 Mar 2013 11:45:00 +0000

We spend a large portion of our time reading articles and blog posts And that consume a large portion of our day[…].

If you’re having trouble getting through all those You want to read, wouldn’t it be useful to be able to listen to the articles instead?

SoundGecko

In this blog post I will introduce a grate tool which does just that, SoundGecko makes it easier by reading them out loud to you—without sounding like a robot.

It bring news articles and blogs to life in a new way. Designed as a text-to-audio transcribing service, SoundGecko generates an MP3 from a URL, allowing you to listen to an article from virtually anywhere at any time that you wish.

For this First You need to register for an SoundGecko account (it’s free And Simple)

An added bonus of SoundGecko is that it can place a copy of the MP3 for later listening in your Google Drive or Dropbox account when you submit an article URL. Which is very cool if you are using multiple devices. On top of that there is also Mobile apps for in iPhone , Android , And Windows Phonesonundgecho

On the backend, SoundGecko fetches each article, strips out the formatting and page elements to just text and then parses it through a text processing and text-to-speech platform.sondgecho-on-mobile

It’s not the only app of its kind, but it’s definitely the most natural sounding—while it won’t fool anyone into thinking there’s a person on the other end , it makes the articles much more listenable than any text to speech software. simply sit back and listen to an article during a commute.

I have been using soundGecko through its chrome extension for quite a time and I must admit I’m loving it. Using it everyday to read my news feeds. And it also helps me to Proofread My articles on Linkstoweb. Probably one of the best Apps I’ve used. It has completely changed the way I consume news and long form articles.

The price for the premium isn’t bad for how much I use it. Actually the free version is more than enough for me.

If you upgrade for the pro version SoundGecko which is prized at a Very small price You will get more RSS support, which allows users to subscribe to blogs (like Linkstoweb) and listen to new posts automatically. this also helps you to save your more time. Smile SoundGecko-on-browser

If you are a podcast listener, SoundGecko has a great feature. It provides you with a custom RSS feed that you can add to your podcast app. So you can use your podcast app of choice to keep up with both podcasts and Sound gecko-read website articles.

And most of the time it’s become very boring to read that all long article or a blog post. But we really push hard to find the thrasher hidden inside on article that we find on the web. In this blog post we will discuss How we can actually get through all this stuff in fun and easy way.

There are a lot of different ways to tackle this, and ultimately it’ll depend on what suits you best, but here are some tips we’ve learned over the past few years .

This post marks part of our series on "Make Web Reading Fun".

MAKE WEB READING FUN

Part2: Best Tool To Make Web Reading Fun And Consume More Information (This Post)

Lets keep it simple ,

Find a New RSS Reader

Try To Keep Everything in One Place Arranged ,The best way to do this is to use Feeds, It is still the most efficient way to get through a large number of blogs and popular websites.

Fancy news readers like Pulse or Flipboard are nice, but a straightforward app like Google Reader is going to be much faster in my experience. —instead of casually browsing, you’re speeding through all your feeds, picking out the stuff that looks interesting to you.

An Update : Google announced that it’ll be closing Google Reader’s doors on July 1st of this year, meaning you’ll need to find a new way to get your news fix. I want to just say I Love you Google Reader.

Luckily, it’s far from the only RSS reader out there, so chances are you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one you like.

Get Start With Feedly

I find Feedly the best alternative to Google Reader. Now I’m slowly getting used to Feedly, and it’s actually quite good. Thank the tech gods! Here are the 6 Things I like most about Feedly

Why You Should Try Feedly – What  I like Most About it

feedly

  • Organize post views to suit your reading style – There are some excellent configuration options that allow you to view posts in the way that best suits you. You can group blog posts into different "categories", scan a summary of the posts, view the full posts, save posts to a queue for later viewing or tag articles so you can find them easier in the future. The best part is apart from RSS Reader Feedly also helps to discover interesting stories and latest news events that interest you, "categories" pane where you can switch from topic to topic quickly
  • Save Articles for Reading Later – There’s a Save button with every article that you read inside Feedly. As the name suggests, it will permanently save that article to your account much like Starred Items in Google Reader. Feedly also supports Pocket and Instapaper so you can save long articles for later.

The big difference is that Feedly’s Reading list is private and you cannot share (or embed) that list with the outside world.

  • Use Feedly on Desktop and Mobile – You can use Feedly from your desktop ( as a browser add-on for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari ) and Android, Apple iOS and Kindle mobile devices. And your Feedly articles and data are saved and synced across all of your devices, and you have total control over which feeds you read and which topics bubble to the top of your reading list.
  • The web interface and android app takes a bit of getting used to but it can be customized to make it look and act like google reader.

• Faster sharing options so you can tell your friends what you just read. Feedly is also Integrate Feedly with Buffer so Instead of sharing all of your content at the same time, Buffer will spread publication out across preconfigured times.
  • It has multiple themes and customizable fonts, and even shows you how popular a given article is on Facebook or Twitter so you can see if everyone’s already talking about it. Plus, the new UI is simply gorgeous, offering a very Flipboard-like layout that’s fast and fun to use.
  • categories-feedly

  • Master the Keyboard Shortcuts – Have the same j/k, m, & s keyboard shortcuts!! Which is very useful. To Know all shortcuts in Feedly just press Shift + ?

The most useful keyboard shortcut though is Shift + v as it will open the original web page associated with the current story.

But Worryingly, Feedly actually uses Google Reader as its backend — and we’re not sure if Google will break the functionality of third-party apps like Feedly when it integrates Reader with Google+. On the flip side, this means you can log into Feedly today and it will automatically have all of your Google Reader feeds set up and ready to go.

But in any case for a passionate base of users who are looking for a better way to consume information. And the amount of information isn’t getting smaller, Feedly is the best option that I Suggest.

Go to cloud.feedly.com and click the Import button to copy all your Reader feeds into your Feedly account. Your Google Account will be your Feedly login.

Please note that this is currently the only way to import feeds in bulk as Feedly doesn’t allow importing OPML feeds yet.
